Shamez Alibhai, Portfolio Manager and Partner, Cheyne Capital Management
Shamez Alibhai is a Partner at Cheyne Capital and Portfolio Manager of the Social Property Impact Fund. He joined Cheyne in 2006 and has 13 years’ experience in the real estate markets. Shamez co-ran Cheyne’s real estate business since 2008 and successfully grew the division to $2.5 billion. In 2014, Shamez launched the Cheyne Social Property Impact Fund – a socially responsible developer and investor working to deliver the extra homes to address outstanding social challenges.
Shamez has Master’s degrees from Yale University and McGill University. Shamez has been a supporter of the ethical investment sector for many years, having financed micro-finance institutions while at Credit Suisse, and is a UK “social angel investor” with a focus on healthcare.
