Transport infrastructure (rail and road) integration – joining the dots

Ballroom South

The UK Government’s recently announced major new investment in UK transport infrastructure included:

  • £1.1 billion to reduce congestion and upgrade local roads and public transport;
  • £220 million to tackle road safety and congestion on Highways England roads;
  • £27 million to develop an expressway connecting Oxford and Cambridge; and
  • allocation of £390 million for future transport

Whilst it is understood that making more from existing capacity is and will stay key for the UK transport sector the need for additional investment into transport links between the Northern Powerhouse, the Midlands Engine and the South East is high on both local and central Government’s agenda.

The session will explore investment opportunities, current state, forthcoming plans and the ways in which the industry and investors can meet growing future demand for seamless transport infrastructure integration across the UK.
